Everyone knows that during an epidemic of viral infection and influenza, the concentration of viruses in the air increases sharply in crowded places. Everyone is advised not to visit public places, if possible, quarantine is declared in colleges and schools, workers who are in constant contact with people wear medical masks.

But even during such a period, many people show carelessness at home, not observing the elementary rules of prevention. The spread of the virus occurs mainly from the relatives with whom the infected lives in the same area. If one of the family members is sick, then there is a high probability of infecting for everyone else. It becomes much more difficult to protect yourself from the virus when a sick person is under the same roof with you, but it is still possible.

Therefore, air purifiers play quite an important role in combating the spread of coronavirus: they remove the viruses from the air, thereby significantly reducing the risk of infection. These devices take the air from the room through filters, so viruses and bacteria are caught and no longer released back into the air.

How well air purifiers can get rid of viruses and bacteria depends on several factors. To find out, in 2020, scientists from Germany (Bundeswehr University) conducted a whole study.

During the test in a room of 80 square meters the air purifier was able to reduce the viral load in half in just six minutes. It was a purifier that itself filters out the particles from the air with a particle diameter of 0.1 to 0.3 microns by 99.995% (as example - pollen is 30 microns in size).

“The big advantag of indoor air purifiers is that they ensure low viral capacity, and you don't have to constantly open windows to ventilate. Air purifiers will be especially useful in offices and schools, as well as in waiting rooms, canteens, lounges, and shops. Accordingly, in places where many people get together, and where it is difficult to frequently and thoroughly ventilate the room,” - the authors of the study explain.

The research results also show that the effectiveness of a filter is highly dependent on the volume of air it needs to purify. Large rooms require particularly powerful devices that can filter a large volume of air in an hour.

The location of the air purifier also matters, with experts suggesting a performance reduction of about 20 percent depending on location. For example, lamps and other heating elements can interfere with airflow, so it is not recommended to install the air cleaners near them.

The filter based on activated carbon and HEPA technology cleans the air of odours, allergens (dust mites, pollen), dust, bacteria, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Clean, sterile air is of great importance both in the business environment: in offices, public and medical organizations, hotels, and restaurants, and in apartments. However, these places with low-quality air adversely affects our well-being and can lead to poor health. Potential consequences include reduced employee productivity, illness, and downtime. Getting rid of airborne pathogens is difficult and so important in our world today, but by using an air purifier from our range this can be done very effectively.
